David Williams’ 1991 Song “Girlfriend”

Maurice co-wrote and provided background vocals on the track “Girlfriend” from guitarist/vocalist David Williams’ 1991 release ‘Somethin’ Special.’ Here’s a snippet…

David, along with bassist James Jamerson, Jr. formed the 70’s group Chanson.

He played on Maurice’s 1985 solo album (“Lady Is Love,” “Children Of Afrika”), Philip Bailey’s 1983 album ‘Continuation’ – “Vaya (Go With Love)” and 1986 album ‘Triumph’ (“The Love Of God,” “The Same Way (You’ve Always Been),” “Triumph”).

David also played on some of Michael Jackson’s biggest hits; “Rock With You,” “Working Day And Night,” “Off The Wall,” “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’,” “Thriller,” “Billie Jean,” “Bad,” “The Way You Make Me Feel,” “Dirty Diana,” and “Smooth Criminal.”

Other artists that David has either recorded or toured with include Madonna, Harvey Mason, Chaka Khan, Diana Ross, The Brothers Johnson, Stevie Nicks, Cheryl Lynn, George Benson, Kenny Loggins, Whitney Houston, Boz Scaggs, Mariah Carey, Brenda Russell, Elton John, and Hiroshima just to name a few.
